VI Chemical Peel Treatment Care Instructions

Post Treatment Care Instructions for VI Chemical Peel

After your treatment, please use the Post Peel Protectant, or steroid cream, but only until peeling begins. Once you begin peeling, stop using this cream.

On day 2, your skin will feel very tight.  This is normal. If itching, you may take a Zyrtec or Benadryl by mouth.

When peeling begins, begin using a healing ointment.  We recommend Stratacel, it will sooth the dryness of the “baby skin” and prevent burning. If you’d like to use a different ointment, please check with us first.

While you’re peeling, you may gently wash your face with the gentle facial wash that comes in your kit.

However, it is IMPERATIVE that you do not pull on the skin as it starts to loosen.  Please use small scissors to trim the skin off. Pulling on the skin can cause abrasions which could scar.

Avoid heavy sweating for 96 hours after treatment.  Do not use Tretinoin (Retin A), Vitamin C or any acid based product for two weeks post peel.
