Full lips with a defined border are a feature of youthful attractiveness – and they’re available to anyone!
How Aging Affects Your Lips
You may already know that environmental factors and the natural aging process change the appearance of our faces, but what about our lips?
Over time, the bone that supports your lips (called the maxillae) diminishes and gets reabsorbed into the body; without its support, your upper lip begins to appear thinner and flatter.
Our skin also affects the appearance of our lips. Over time skin loses Hyaluronic Acid (HA), which means we lose that youthful elasticity and tightness.
Combine that with repetition of facial expressions and we start to show marionette lines; the little lines on the sides of your lips.
Fortunately, by adding a little volume back, it’s possible to enhance the lips you were given without making them look unnatural.
Other Lips Concerns
Symmetry: Symmetry is what our eyes recognize as beauty. Whether from birth or a previous treatment gone wrong, we can create, improve, or restore symmetry to your lips: top to bottom and left to right.
Lip Lines: Natural aging, repeated facial expressions, using straws, pursing to put on your lipstick, and smoking (especially smoking) all create lines around our lips that give away our age! Using non-surgical techniques, we can smooth these lines and restore a youthful appearance to your mouth.
Size: Aging aside, maybe you just want bigger lips. And why shouldn’t you?! Big lips are in.
Filler Gone Wrong: Speaking of size, you may be considering lip enhancement or correction, but are feeling reluctant due to images you’ve seen on the internet of procedures gone wrong – you may be afraid of looking like you have “duck lips”. And that’s a valid concern.
The horrible outcomes that you’re thinking of are all cases of TOO MUCH. And usually it’s not just filler, but a combination of treatments. At Elamar our #1 concern is client satisfaction, which is a combination of achieving the results you want while still looking natural. We always err on the side of too little, because we can go back and add more if needed.
Non-Surgical Treatments to Enhance Your Lips
Restore lost volume, plump, improve shape, define your lip borders, and reduce lip lines by injecting hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in your skin.
CO2 lasers use light energy to remove damaged upper layers of your skin and promote new collagen to tighten and smooth your skin. It’s the ultimate for removing lines around the lips and mouth.
