Countless men and women of all ages and fitness levels are bothered by “submental fullness”, or  double chin.

Double chin is often resistant to diet and exercise efforts, but there's a nonsurgical solution called Kybella®.

Kybella® is a quick injection that permanently dissolves fat, leaving you with a slim defined jawline.

KYBELLA® Before & After Photos

How Kybella Works

Kybella works by using an active ingredient called deoxycholic acid that safely dissolve fat (and not other types of tissue). Deoxycholic acid is a chemical that's naturally produced in the liver, and our bodies use it to break down fat in the food we eat.

When it's injected in the form of Kybella, it goes to work breaking down fat under the skin, which encourages the body to metabolize it and gradually remove it. Kybella also has the effect of tightening the neck skin along the jawline that contributes to a double chin.

Kybella is impressively effective at targeting the double chin area, something that diet and exercise cannot do. Best of all, Kybella's results can last indefinitely: The fat cells targeted will be permanently removed after treatment.

Kybella Safety

Kybella is approved by the FDA, has been under development for more than 9 years, and has been the subject of over 20 clinical studies involving more than 2,600 patients. It has undergone extensive, rigorous evaluation and clinical trials to confirm that it's safe for people and effective.

You should not haveKybella injections if you currently have an active infection of any sort in the area below your chin. It's also important to let Dr. Gill know if you have any medical conditions that affect your neck or throat.

Are You a Good Kybella Candidate?

KYBELLA is a great option for anyone who wants to reduce the appearance of submental fullness, or double chin, improve jowling, lift, tighten, and define their jawline – without liposuction.

What to Expect During Your Kybella Appointment

Kybella treatments are quick and easy. Once in the room, Dr. Gill cleanses your skin then uses a marker to make a series of dots that form a grid. Next he places a series of injections in each dot – the entire treatment takes no more than 5 minutes.

After the injections we'll apply an ice pack for about 5 minutes to counteract the slight inflammation.

Then you're ready to get back to your day! The whole appointment will likely last about 30 minutes.

A recent KYBELLA patient explains why she decided to pursue the treatment — and why she's thrilled with her results.

How Quickly Will You See Results?

For maximum effectiveness, KYBELLA typically requires a series of between 2 and 4 treatments, spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart. The timing allows the active ingredient to fully take effect, so we know how to build on your results in the following session. Each treatment session produces a more noticeable result, and in the weeks following your final treatment, you'll be able to fully appreciate your new look. You can expect your results to last for many years.

Are There Any Side Effects?

There can be some bruising, swelling and tenderness following Kybella treatments, similar to other injectables, and can last up to a week. The bruising can be easily covered with make-up as soon as the next day. The swelling at the injection site typically lasts 4-7 days.
