Chemical Peels

Chemical Peels are an advanced exfoliation technique that renews and rejuvenates damaged, aging skin.

There are various types and strengths of chemical peels. We personalized them to each client to address many different skin concerns, including wrinkles, uneven skin tone, rough skin texture, and sun damage or pigmentation.

Understanding Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are ideal for removing superficial layers of the skin and the flaws they contain. Peels come in various intensities and are often used to minimize minor wrinkling or scarring, lighten hyperpigmentation (brown spots or patches on the skin) and reduce or eliminate active acne.

Chemical Peel Safety

When performed by an experienced provider, chemical peels are very safe. You should expect some light flaking and peeling after treatment. More pronounced peeling is common after a medium or deep peel (like the VI). This is normal and should subside after a few days or weeks.

It's very important to avoid sun exposure following your chemical peel. Your treatment provider will apply a moisturizer with light sunscreen immediately after your peel, and it is important that you continue to wear sunscreen for several weeks.

Products containing retinol (Retin-A), glycolic acid, or other chemical exfoliators should be discontinued 3 days before and after your chemical peel. Try to schedule your chemical peel around vacations or other outdoor activities when you may be more exposed to the sun.

Can I Benefit?

Chemical peels are ideal for men and woman who want to rejuvenate their appearance and improve the texture and tone of their skin. Specifically, those who benefit most from this treatment are those seeking to control acne, decrease oil production and pore size, treat skin hyperpigmentation, soften fine lines and wrinkles, smooth acne scarring, and prevent blackheads and milia (small white bumps).

The VI Peel®

Our most effective peel is the VI Peel®. The VI Peel is medium intensity blended peel.

Single-Acid peels inherently treat a limited number of conditions. For example, a straight TCA peel is amazing at combating the signs of aging. Unfortunately, obtaining impactful results requires a high percentage of TCA. Not only is it painful, but treatment will also be limited to Fitzpatrick Skin Types I-III.

The VI Peel is a unique blend of 5 acids designed to target multiple conditions. The synergy of these acids allows for not only a painless peel, but also a peel suitable for all skin types (I-VI).

It also has the ability to not only address a patient's primary concern, but will also simultaneously address any secondary skin conditions they may have.

How the VI Peel Works

Retinoic Acid

This powerhouse acid penetrates the skin inhibiting melanin production and increasing cell turnover.

Trichloroacetic Acid

The TCA then targets signs of aging by boosting collagen and exfoliating the skin.

Salicylic Acid

The Salicylic acid prevents inflammation by killing bacteria and cleansing the pores.

Phenol

This is the secret weapon that numbs the skin allowing for a painless application.

Ascorbic Acid

Finally, the ascorbic acid is a powerful antioxidant that reverses free radicals, evens skin tone and helps prevent future damage.

The VI Peel is perfect for people looking to reverse sun damage, environmental damage, and the effects of time. VI Peels enhance your skin's natural beauty by bringing new skin cells to the surface using gentle exfoliation. It is also highly effective in treating hyperpigmentation, reducing fine wrinkles and scars, and clearing acne and impurities. VI Peel is virtually painless and requires little to no downtime.
